Jamie Borowicz's "Cacophony"

Glass Growers Presents: Cacophony by Jamie Borowicz

Exhibition Dates: Thursday, May 1 – Saturday, June 7, 2025

Glass Growers Gallery is pleased to exhibit a collection of highly detailed and intricate watercolor paintings by Jamie Borowicz. This body of work explores both natural and architectural themes through layered, complex forms and vibrant compositions.

Artist Statement:

"Most of these images are made up of complex and detailed forms overlayed and juxtaposed, which make it visually 'noisy'. Over time the approach was applied to cityscapes, vegetation, birds, fish, numbers, etc. just to see what would come out. The result is this body of works."-Jamie Borowicz

Artist Bio:

Jamie Borowicz holds a Ph.D. in Anthropology, with a dissertation titled “Images of Power and the Power of Images: Iconography of Stelae as an Indicator of Socio-Political Events in the Early Classic Maya Lowlands.” While pursuing his academic studies, he also honed his passion for creating fine art. He earned his undergraduate degree in Art Education from Mercyhurst College.

Borowicz’s work reflects the intersection of art and anthropology. His watercolor compositions often shift planar perspectives, merge organic patterns, and employ evocative tone and color to create engaging, multilayered visual experiences.
